“Life is an Experiment” |
|||
|
On November 8, 2011, about 46 ladies came to bid farewell to Renate and listened to her sharing her journey through life from Bremen, Germany, then fast tracked to Shanghai and on to Guangzhou, China. It was a delightful and inspiring evening, shared by those who have known Renate well, as well as some first comers who came to hear about a life’s journey of one experiment after another. All just before she is going to venture into another adventure in life in a completely different country, different profession, different industry, culture, and for different goals and hopes in her life. Renate described how she outgrew the pain as a bullied kid to gaining her self-confidence, venturing into different choices, finding and making her own decisions on her education, profession, love, and then making a move to the other side of the globe to a completely different world. Along the way, she has learned to say what she wants, stops worrying and starts living her life, clears up her clutter, keeps her physical stamina and takes adventures, gives and helps out those in need of help, stays curious and keeps learning, welcomes new challenges, and even looks at them with a big smile by staying optimistic. Through the experiments she has taken on in life by making life choices, taking risks and exploring the many facets of life, she has come to realize that when she listens to her heart as well as her head, she will be taking on more and different experiments that will lead her to the work life balance she now seeks. To answer the callings of her heart, she often ends up venturing out of her comfort zone, at times leaving behind her love life, comfortable living, rewarding career, circles of friends, those she has cherished and helped along the way. Going for what she truly wants out of life by embracing opportunities, venturing to new and wonderful places, but always finding her life fulfilled, enriched even by more and different experiences.
