34 interested business women and – for the first time also men – joined WIB at the Hyatt Hotel over a delicious 3-course lunch to learn more about business risk mitigation. Employee fraud is a growing problem especially given the current financial crisis. Mr. Torsten Duwenhorst, Associate Director and Mrs. Lorraine Ma, Manager (ACCA) (HKICPA) of Ernst & Young Advisory Services Ltd. Hong Kong shared their long-term experiences and introduced the participants to the three crucial “how-to's” necessary to combat employee fraud: prevention, re-cognition and investigation.
As the event took place on
May 12th, the anniversary of the Sichuan earthquake, participants were
asked to donate and Women in Business proudly presented RMB 1.360 to The
Charles Foundation, which facilitates the education of underprivileged
children, especially girls, of the Liangshan Yizu Autonomous Region,
Sichuan Province in China. |
