Portrait of an Artist
with Esther Brinkmann

Tuesday October 21st, renown Swiss Jewelry designer Esther Brinkmann shared her experiences and wisdom focusing on how to stay current in a highly competitive industry and the importance of creativity and taking on difficult and new tasks to not only remain interested in the work, but also to drive a career forward and build experiences making future opportunities more attainable. The importance of teaching and passing knowledge down as well as exchange with peers is also a Brinkmann mantra. Building an international network of people in complementary industries has been of utmost importance allowing her to expand her scope in jewelry design and her museum curator work. The key to a rich and successful life is to catch opportunities and to also know which ones to pass up. We are able to do so many things we are “unqualified” for, we just need to do them. After a successful event, we are wiser and look forward to finding opportunities to broaden our skill set and our confidence. Thank you Esther Brinkmann.
