Ms. Renate Tietjen has been living and
working in China since 1997. In 2002, Ms. Tietjen took
over as Chief Representative of C. Melchers GmbH & Co.
KG, Guangzhou and Chongqing Representation. The Melchers
Group is a diversified, international service group with
41 subsidiaries and a historic focus on Asia.
Starting her working career learning the
profession of international trade (import/export), Ms.
Tietjen acquired several years of working experience in
Germany before studying economics and Chinese
at the
Hochschule in Bremen. After graduation, holding a
diploma as Wirtschaftssinologin, Ms. Tietjen moved to
Shanghai as a Procurement Manager for Inspirion GmbH, a
subsidiary of the Melchers Group.
Having chaired the German Chamber of
Commerce in South China and heading the German Round
Business Table from 2003 to 2006, Ms. Tietjen has been
actively supporting the German business community in
South China for 6 years and remains a member of the
board.
Out of personal interest, Ms. Tietjen
initiated ‘Women in Business’ in May 2008, and hopes
that many professional women will join in on future
events sharing the idea of networking and its mutual
benefits.
